Nigel has been organising events on the Thames for nearly 50 years. From creating the concept of the shared Disco Cruise, through innovative themed river tours to upmarket dinner and entertainment packages he has been at the forefront to establish the Thames as the venue of choice for individual and corporate hospitality. Having built up and sold the largest fleet of upmarket boats in the London Thames he is delighted to be back in business putting his unique stamp on the ‘High Society’ and the ‘Wyndham’ as the start of building the Thames Boats brand. The Company is commited to offer value for money at every level and he will be personally overseeing every aspect of the new business to ensure that is delivered for each client.
Nick is the 8th generation of his family on the Thames, and bound to The Worshipful Company of Watermen & Lightermen. Has vast experience working on tugs, barges & pleasure craft for over 20 years. In 2001 he won the coveted Doggetts Coat & Badge wager. Was appointed Barge Master to the Watermen & Lightermen Company in 2008, to which he overseas many City of London Livery functions, which includes leading The Lord Mayor’s show. As a Freeman to the City of London, he’s very passionate about the history of the City and the river that runs through it. His experience and river knowledge is second to none.
His affection for the Thames was born while studying for his Honours degree in Tourism. More than a decade on, he has gained an extensive knowledge of all passenger boats operating in London and beyond. He has built and maintained numerous key working relationships with Agents and Operators and his demeanour and commitment to customer satisfaction brings many repeat bookers. Emphasised by his dedication to ensuring the entire process, from enquiry through to post event, runs smoothly and with high standards of customer care always paramount. More often than not, you’ll hear his voice at the other end of the phone, or read his reply to your email enquiry, as he involves himself diligently with your event.
